The Hotel has been a Braamfontein landmark since the 1930's. Early photographs depict a two-storey brick building under an iron room, with plastered walls. Judging by the average monthly beer trade of over 82 pounds, the Hotel was a favourite local watering hole, a reputation it still preserves to this day.
